The Grass Valley Police Department is participating in a well-known cancer awareness movement called “No-Shave November” which fundraises and brings awareness to men's health issues like prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men’s mental health.

The Grass Valley Police Department will be fundraising for this worthy cause by allowing officers to grow beards for the entire month of November 2019.  Participating GVPD Officers will grow beards and allow the general public to vote on their favorite officer beard. In an effort to fund-raise for this cause, voting tickets will be sold at the front window of the Grass Valley Police Department for a suggested donation of five dollars a ticket.  All proceeds will be donated to the local Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation Cancer Fund.

During the last day of November the officer with the most citizen votes will be decided as the best-of-show beard winner and those who voted for the officer will be entered in a drawing to receive GVPD swag and  their choice of officer to buy them a donut and coffee.

GVPD officers are excited to help raise funds for this worthy cause.
