Update-Sholem Aleichem Cultural Ctr, Bronx,Defaced
For 74 years, The Sholem Aleichem Cultural Center on Bainbridge Avenue in the Bronx has served the Yiddish-speaking community with cultural events and resources. We have been part of a diverse and harmonious neighborhood, known by older residents as Bainbridgivke.
On October 31, 2023 during the night, our building was defaced with graffiti and paint stains. WNBC in New York filed this report.
We are working with local law enforcement to enhance security and rebuild community confidence as we plan new Yiddish cultural programming.
Please help us with our work.
A sheynem dank!
