I won’t find running 5K easy – even though it might not seem like a huge distance to some, it will still be a real challenge for me. I originally planned to do this run purely as a personal accomplishment, something to push myself and prove I can do it. But I thought, why not make it count for something more? That’s why I’m raising money for Shelter, a fantastic charity that supports people in need of a safe place to live. Let’s help end homelessness and make every step of this run matter.

I will be running the 2026 Manchester Marathon in April to raise money on benefit of Shelter, National Campaign for Homeless People Limited.

I’m running a half marathon to raise money for Shelter, the National Campaign for Homelessness.

Shelter helps over a million people a year who are struggling with poor housing or homelessness.

Why I chose to support a homeless charity:

In 2016 I connected with a woman who we’re experiencing homelessness. I got to know her story and her hopes for the future, as we parted she said

‘will you be here next week?’

From then until lockdown, I reached out to local businesses, allocated funding, collected clothing, food, animal supplies, and toiletries and handed these out with a small team.

In 2024, I was lucky enough to join a team that aims to deliver quality housing for people in need.

If you can spare a couple of quid, it could make a real difference to someone restarting their life.

shelter provides guidance and the tools needed for people to build successful lives.

Your money will support people sofasurfing / in temp accommodation and people who are street homeless. Youth homelessness is rising, with over 118,000 young people seeking help in 2023-24.

After running the 2025 London Marathon, I knew I wanted to continue my running journey, but not only for the challenge but also to make a difference to causes that matter.

Over the coming months, I’ll be taking on:

I’m running in support of Shelter, a charity close to my heart. I work with vulnerable adults, many of whom face the very real barriers of homelessness and insecure or unsuitable housing. Seeing first hand how unstable housing can severely impact every area on an individuals life. It has made me want to make a real difference, further than what I can do within my role.

Shelter provides vital support and advocacy for people in these situations, and their work is more important than ever.

Running 13 or 26 miles doesn’t come easy to me, but it's nothing compared to what so many people are dealing with every day just trying to find a place to live.

Everyone deserves a safe and habitable home.

At the start of next year ( yes I know it's very early but I will forget), me and Lauren will be running the Ibiza half marathon. I will be raising money for shelter which is a charity that helps support homeless and vulnerable people and family's in the Local area especially with how hard things are for people at the moment.

I am definitely guilty of taken the simple things for granted like a bed or a shower. So hopefully be good to help people in a less fortunate position who need help.
