Shay Sharpe's Pink Wishes Inc.

Shay Sharpe's Pink Wishes (SSPW) is an all volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization, based in Baltimore Maryland, that educates, advocates, supports, mentors & grants wishes to young women and children who have been affected by terminal breast cancer. We grant wishes across all 50 states and our impact on women’s health spans the globe.

Since our inception in 2011, most of our donations have come from our followers vs companies or grants. We have never had a lot of money, but we always had just enough to pay our bills and fund our breast cancer giving and education initiatives, due to our low overhead. *We will now transition to rely more on grants than people due to inflation.

Over the past 18 months our donations have decreased significantly and I’ve recently had to fully drain my personal savings account to ensure our obligations were fulfilled, even using my personal credit card to buy one of the stage iv girls medical supplies. For the first time ever, we had a check bounce. It broke my heart. I felt like a failure.

One of the reasons why we skipped the gala this year was because I had to use my savings to pay SSPW bills & fees instead of fronting the gala tickets, as yall always wait to the last minute to buy tickets. . *Third party ticket sellers don’t release all of the ticket funds to us until AFTER the gala, so there is always something that I still have to cover in the meantime.

Shay Sharpe’s Pink Wishes has quietly faced one obstacle after another the past year, including a fire, water damage, and no central air for a month, while still supporting our breast cancer community, our Christmas Wish Kids, our scholars, our families of the women who cancer stole from us and anyone us who needed us during that time and now we have to sit our pride to the side to say that WE NEED YOU! We can’t do it alone! We tried! There are absolutely no more ways to stretch a dollar.

In lieu of a Black Tie Fundraiser we will only raise funds online this year. Make it fun! Challenge your friends.
