Shadow Hills Jr Knights is fundraising
2019 Shadow Hills Jr Midget Knights
My name is Chuck Cervello and I am the coach of the 2019 Shadow Hills Knight’s Jr. Midget Football Team. Our team is a diverse group of eleven to thirteen-year-old student-athletes who live and attend school here in the Coachella Valley. We ended the last two seasons with consecutive trips to the Super Bowl and a trip to the American Youth Football (AYF) National Championships.
The team won this year's (2019) Super Bowl Championship and hope to once again obtain an invitation to play in the AYF Nationals. We are already scheduled to compete in the United Youth Football League’s (UYFL) National Championships, so either way we will be playing for a national championship in December. Both tournaments bring athletes from across the U.S. together and the experience is about much more than playing in a couple of football games.
Football teaches many life lessons, but the experience of traveling and participating in a national tournament is an incredible opportunity. The ability of the team to compete for a national championship is dependent entirely on the support of the community. Many of the players and their families simply do not have the money or resources to pay for this kind of experience.
The players, coaches, parents, and board members are asking for your help. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated. We are a 501(c)3 organization, therefore all donations are tax deductible. The breakdown is $1,600 a person to cover all associated costs. This includes airfare, lodging, transportation, food, various activities, and other associated costs for a player or staff member.
