Support Laundry Services for Silverlake's Unhoused
SELAH Neighborhood Homeless Coalition
SELAH stands for Silverlake Echo Park Los Feliz Atwater Hollywood - out of which volunteer-run programs provide immediate material aid and ongoing community support to our unhoused neighbors.
The Silverlake program offers our unhoused neighbors laundry service every Wednesday. However, it costs quite a bit of money to keep this program running and we no longer have funding. Our unhoused friends depend on this service. Some of them have only one change of clothes/one blanket; the ability to wash them weekly helps tremendously.
In order to get this service back, we need roughly 10,000 dollars. It’s a lot, but it pays for the laundromat rental as well as each individual’s laundry service every week.
Any donation is valued as SELAH will be able to use these funds for Laundry or any other of the various program services as needed.
If we can reach this goal, our participants will be secured laundry for another full year, and I promise you will be making a very big difference in someone's life!!
