Mass Owner Surrender: Give Dogs the Gift of a Second Chance
In March of 2024, our organization was asked to assist with a mass owner surrender of the upwards of 50 animals.
Our small nonprofit has since ceased all other operations aside from assisting this elderly owner with removing all animals from the property.
As of starting this fundraiser, our organization has already removed
33 dogs
3 pigs
1 cat
1 horse
1 donkey
Most animals removed have needed extensive veterinary care to include heartworm treatment, tumor removals, heart disease treatment, ongoing Spina Bifida care, mange treatment, flea dermatitis treatment, gastrointestinal distress treatment, along with routine vetting.
Thankfully, we were just able to begin vetting the remaining dogs that the owner would like to surrender.
It doesn't end there.
The remaining 9 dogs on the property are currently living outdoors meanwhile their elderly owner is struggling to care for them.
We would like to move all 9 into a boarding enviroment to allow them to decompress, obtain behavioral assesments from a veterinary team, and complete their vetting while we search for foster homes.
As you can imagine, this is a financially daunting task as we are facing $18-$20 per dog per day in boarding fees along with all vetting costs we will need to undertake.
Please, consider giving these dogs the gift of a fresh start this holiday season. They are counting on you to help them on their way to finding their forever homes.
