We got Blair!
Blair Waldorf needs your help after her time on the streets! Her namesake would be appalled to see the state of her hair!
Blair and Nate were witnessed being dumped in the Nottingham Country neighborhood of Katy almost two weeks ago. Neighbors had been trying to catch but they were both too skittish. A neighbor reached out for help and we were able to trap Nate shortly after. It took us another week to get Blair because she had almost drowned in a nearby swimming pool and ran off after her near death experience.
Thanks to lots of sightings on July 4th, we were able to finally capture Blair safely before the fireworks started. She has been traveling a huge loop and crossed a major road during her time on the street. She was so overheated and exhausted that we didn’t even need to the trap - she let us put a leash on her.
We rushed her into the AC and got her some food and water. She spent the next two days decompressing. She is extremely matted for what appears to be lengthy neglect and fearful of strangers at first. At the end of her two days in foster, she was crawling into her temp Foster’s lap. She is going to need to be heavily groomed as the matts are causing her extreme discomfort - there are whole pine needles wrapped in knots in her fur.
Schnauzer Rescue of Texas stepped in to take care of Blair and she is getting vetted shortly - fixed, chipped, vaccines and groomed. This rescue already took in Nate so we are trying to help raise funds to cover Blair’s costs.
Nate and what we assume is his sibling were dumped in Nottingham Country about a week ago (near Shillington) and neighbors have been trying to get them to safety. When we saw a post on another page, we put a trap out with the help of concerned neighbors. Unfortunately only Nate had been seen the night prior to the trap; the sibling had almost drowned in a pool previously but was saved by the home owner - the sibling ran off and hasn’t been seen since.
Nate is very matted and he will need to be shaved. He’s not chipped. He’s nervous of people but already let me pet him. Appears to have never been on a leash before. We are happy we got him before the thunderstorms rolled through. We are still searching for his sibling who hasn’t been seen for two days now.
Schnauzer Rescue of Texas is graciously accepting him into their program and we would like to help raise funds for his vetting. Please donate if you can - he’s going to need a professional grooming, vaccines, neuter , and chip. Dogs continue to be dumped in Katy areas and rescues and shelters are struggling to keep up with all the medical costs.
