We are Kansas City Academy, and we are trying to donate money to Pride Haven (Save Inc.) for our 6th and 7th grade service project. Pride Haven is a shelter program for LGBTQ+ youth (18-24 years old). Pride Haven isn’t only a shelter; it’s a community. They help youth find jobs, start applications, save money, find housing, and much more. They make more than a temporary fix; they give you permanent solutions. Unfortunately, because of COVID, their main overnight program got closed down. It will cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to reopen. Even if we can’t reopen Pride Haven’s overnight program we still want to help as much as we can, which means every little bit helps. We may be small, but the change we want to make is big.
