Sankofa Roots (Remembering Our Roots)

Sankofa Roots is a land-based learning and healing organization that offers outdoor preparedness and survival trainings and education programs to Black, Indigenous and Queer-identifying folks, particularly to those on the frontlines of climate crisis, housing instability and systemic oppression. Our programs are rooted in the reclamation and preservation of African, Indigenous and Queer survival skills, foods, cultures, ceremonies and practices. Our goal is to equip as many of our people as possible with the skills we need to survive and thrive in outdoor conditions, while reclaiming ancestral practices for outdoor preparedness and intergenerational healing.
