Dance for a Cause: Help Sankara Nethralaya
Hello everyone,

I am a senior at Foothill High School, California. I have been training in Indian classical dance for 13 years, currently under Guru Smt Mohana Narayan, SarvaGuna School of Bharathanatyam. I have also been performing Bollywood dance for the past four years and am part of my school Bollywood club in which we perform in showcases and competitions across the bay area.

I am conducting this summer Bollywood dance workshop to raise funds for the Sankara Nethralaya OM Trust, a non-profit organization that provides affordable eye surgeries for the underprivileged in India.

I am excited to teach, dance, and have fun with you all this summer while knowing that these funds will be channeled to those who need them the most.

Of the global blind population of 37 million, 15 million are from India. Thankfully, 75 % of these cases can be prevented by a simple procedure known as cataract surgery.

To address the blindness issue in India, Living Legend, Padmabhushan Dr. S. S. Badrinath started Sankara Nethralaya in 1978 on a modest scale. Today, the nine facilities cater to 3,500 – 4000 outpatients and 250 - 300 surgeries per day.

Please join Swara Brahma Mani Sharma's Live in Concert at the Hamilton High School Auditorium in Chandler, AZ, gifting EyeSight to the needy.
