We’re 8th Graders looking to raise money for the suicide hotline as a part of our civic action project.

We believe that the hotline is a great resource and should be more widely recognized and accessible for all, which is why we’re looking to raise money for it. Thank you!

Kent Mashimo passed away on April 25th. To honor him, I’m raising money to benefit Samaritans Inc. Hotlines like Samaritans help save countless lives every day, including my brother’s.

More information about Samaritans Inc: Samaritans' mission is to reduce the incidence of suicide by alleviating despair, isolation, distress and suicidal feelings among individuals in our community, 24 hours a day; to educate the public about suicide prevention; and to reduce the stigma associated with suicide. We serve those in Boston and the MetroWest through a 24/7 Crisis Phone and Text line, educational workshops in the community, and SafePlace support groups for those who have lost a loved one to suicide.
