HELP BRING CAPTAIN FINCHER HOME TO RECOVER
Retired Charlotte Fire Department (CFD) Captain Tripp Fincher was seriously injured after falling over 20 feet from a tree accident in Severy, Kansas, on Sept. 3, 2022. He was airlifted to Wichita, Kansas, for treatment, where he underwent extensive surgery. In the next 10 to 14 days, as Tripp progresses, we would like to help bring Captain Fincher home to Charlotte to continue his recovery and physical rehabilitation.
Because of his extensive injuries, he can only travel by medical airplane.
The need to raise funds is real to cover the cost of urgent medical air travel, extended physical rehabilitation care in Charlotte, and ancillary expenses Captain Fincher and his family will incur.
Captain Fincher joined CFD in 1990 and graduated from Charlotte Fire recruit class 36. In 2002, he was promoted to Captain and retired on May 11, 2019, after more than two decades of dedicated service.
Captain Fincher, a second-generation firefighter, has always said yes to assisting the citizens of the Charlotte community and beyond when 911 was called. Tripp responded to thousands of calls for service to help those in need. In addition, as the Officer-in-Charge of the CFD's Urban Search and Rescue unit at Station 11, they were deployed to major incidents in the Queen City and beyond the region. Along with serving the public, Captain Fincher was a leader in supporting his fellow firefighter brothers, sisters, and their families during their time of need.
During his firefighter career and in retirement, Tripp raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for first responders and their families in their time of need. This included coordinating many golf outings, fish fries, and BBQs, resulting in raising much-needed funds for those in need. Tripp was team captain of Charlotte Fire Department Hockey and currently holds the title of captain emeritus for the team.
We want to thank you for any support you can offer Tripp and His family in his time of need.
