Meet Cynthia. She is a mother of and a grandmother. Cynthia has had 9 heart attacks and is still here. One day she found herself in a position where she needed to move but did not know how she was going to afford it. Cynthia sat down at her kitchen table and asked God for help. Just then she started looking at a resource guide that she had and through several phone calls she was able to find Safe Moves for Seniors. Because of generous donors like you, Safe Moves for Seniors was able to pack, hire movers, and unpack Cynthia in her new home for FREE.

Every day, countless seniors face the daunting challenge of relocating to safer, more affordable housing, often without the resources or support they need. Moving with Dignity

We are a local chapter of a national nonprofit, Safe Moves for Seniors. We help lower-income older adults to move to safer, more affordable housing at no charge. We engage local movers and move managers who assist with these moves at cost or pro bono to help seniors move safely.

With this initiative, our goal is to promote opportunities for our clients to move when THEY choose to move and not just be at the mercy of an available friend or neighbor who "might" be able to help.

Our mission is to move low-income older adults to safer, more affordable, housing, at no charge. This removes any barriers that may be standing between someone who is ready to move but lack the resources in order to do so when they are ready or housing becomes available.

In our region, and across the country, there are several thousand older adults that lack the resources to move to safer more affordable housing when they need to move. They are often removed from waiting lists or lose their desired housing because they lack the funds to pay for a moving truck and the labor required to declutter, pack and relocate.

I found it this nonprofit in 2022, and we have moved over 100 seniors due to individual donations, grants, and corporate sponsorships.

The calls we receive are heartbreaking and we want to help everybody, but we absolutely need your help. For my birthday, I would like to raise enough money to move three people this month! The money will be used for moving trucks, labor, and materials. Our volunteers assist us, but the moving labor is not free. It is the busiest time of year and this week alone we were able to move four people, but it has drained all of our funding.
