Student's for Sacramento Stand Down
Sacramento Stand Down is a non-profit 501c3 Organization servicing homeless veterans in the Sacramento community for over 29 years. Our organization brings together State and Federal agencies as well as other non-profit service providers. We all work together to create a comprehensive support network that encourages and assists homeless veterans, high risk veterans of becoming homeless, to include Guard and Reservists in addressing the multiple problems they face.

Sacramento Stand Down provides a safe environment in which our veterans can connect with individuals who have their shared experiences and who have a singular goal of helping our veterans cultivate hope so they can rebuild their lives. This belief is embodied in our goal of providing a hand up not a hand out.

We are a group of UC Davis Graduate School of Management (GSM) MBA first-year cohort who are raising funds for Sacramento Stand Down.

Fundraising effort starts now through November 20th, 2024. Sacramento Stand Down provides services to homeless veterans and their family members with meals, housing, and a whole host of other services. $10,000 will help save 50 veterans' lives this winter.

Our Stand Down events serve as a one stop destination for the homeless Veterans of our community to receive the services and support that they so desperately need. At these events we provide our Veterans relief from the elements by providing temporary shelter, warm bedding, and hot meals. With their basic necessities of shelter and food being met, they can focus on working with our providers outlined below to begin their journey out of homelessness Medical and first aid services Dental services Vision and chiropractic services Housing referral services Mental health counseling and P.T.S.D. services Employment aid and job counseling Legal support and Court services DMV Social Security benefits VA benefits
