About RUSA LGBTQ Corp
RUSA LGBTQ (QARAVAN) is a New York City community-based nonprofit organization of Eurasian LGBTQIA immigrants and allies, for most of whom Russian is a shared language. As a community and place of belonging, RUSA unites individuals of diverse ethnicities in the New York area who immigrated from 15 post-Soviet countries and identify as LGBTQIA, and their allies. RUSA builds the power of LGBTQIA refugees, joining other grassroots groups to change unjust policies, discriminatory societal attitudes, and oppressive ideologies that target LGBTQIA individuals, women, refugees, and other racialized and minoritized people for a more equitable world.
