Myself and some colleagues are cycling from Colchester to Danaher Animal Home on 12th November 2025 to help fundraise for the Puppy Nursery. Help us Fundraise for our Puppy Nursery:

Help Us Build “The Nursery” - A Haven for Mums and Pups

At Danaher Animal Home, we’re launching a fundraiser to try and raise £5,000 to begin building something truly special, our Puppy Nursery. This dedicated space will provide a calm, quiet, and nurturing environment for mums and their puppies during one of the most important times of their lives.

So far in 2025 we have had 8 litters of puppies in our care and rehomed 62 puppies!

On the 18th May I am doing the Colchester Zoo 10k Stampede, my first ever run and I’m raising money for Danaher Animal Home.

I’ve recently been lucky enough to get my dream job of animal care assistant at the amazing Danaher Animal Home and whilst I haven’t been there long, I can already see how much of a difference this place makes to animals in need. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.

Hi I’m raising money for Danaher animal home Because I have always been passionate about saving animals lives, and Danaher does a great job of that. They are a wonderful animal home, they do everything they can to help animals lives. And because of their good deeds, I feel that I would like to help them keep on helping the animals. The best way I can do this is help them raise money as they are a charity, so all funding is incredibly appreciated.

Danaher Animal Home is more than just a shelter. It's a lifeline. Every year, hundreds of lost, abandoned, and mistreated animals find refuge here

Help Replace Stolen Van
On Friday 12th August our Transit high-top long wheel base van (pictured), registration YM66 ZPP was stolen in Sudbury.

Despite the best efforts of the police, we are no closer to recovering it and thus have decided it is necessary to purchase a replacement to continue our operations.

The donations collected by our van drivers help towards 50% of our running costs as well as provide food and bedding for the animals, so it is vital we have a replacement as soon as possible to avoid paying continued van hire rates.

Insurance will cover part of the cost, however we are asking for the kindness of our supporters to help raise the additional funds needed.

We give our sincerest thanks to anyone that can help us in our time of need and massively appreciate your support.

Around The World in 80 Days
Donate a minimum of £1 and contact us on here (include your email address) or send us an email with the subject heading 'AROUND THE WORLD' and we will email you the sponsorship starter pack!

From April 1st to June 19th our goal is to virtually walk the circumference of the globe, which is approximately 45,000km. Visiting capital cities and iconic landmarks along the way, we hope to raise our target of £1,000 within these 80 days!

To reach our goal we are asking all participants to record the distance they walk when they are walking their dogs, and as a community everyone's distances will be pooled together until we have walked 45,000km!

Even if you don't have a dog and would love to get involved you're more than happy to do so. You can run, cycle, even swim if you want to! As long as you send us your miles we'll include it.

The RSPCA Danaher Animal Home is a self-funded charity that relies on the generosity and support of the public to continue their mission in rehoming unwanted dogs, cats and domestic small pets.

Every year we do a sponsored dog walk and this year is no different! Except this time, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we're asking everyone to participate from home.
