Round Rock Dolphins Swim Team
Believe it or not, swim season is coming up fast and we have work to do to prepare for the best Dolphin season ever! We need your help! If you are able to help contribute, we would be very grateful!
The Dolphins have been swimming since 1977 and offer lessons to kids ages 4-17. The swimmers range in skill from first time swimmers to advanced swimmers looking to improve their skills. Approximately 300 kids participate each year, and our goal is to help our kids develop physical fitness, self discipline, self confidence, a determination to do one's best, good sportsmanship, and to have FUN!
Over the years I cannot explain how touching it is to see those small kids get across the pool for the first time! They may not be fast, they may take 10 breaks, they may want to give up half way across the pool, but as they swim, the entire place is cheering them on, and when they finish they are so full of accomplishment and pride!!! Truly, their kids light up like it is Christmas morning!!! And even if the kids are on the opposing team, everyone is clapping and yelling like they just won an Olympic gold! Often these kids have never had that feeling before, and I believe it is not forgotten. The Dolphins coaching staff lets everyone participate who wants to, and they often gently prod them along so the kids will do they they never deemed capable of doing!
This is a team that shows love and support to everyone- big, small, fast, slow, brave, scared....the Dolphins are about building each other up and showing kindness while having fun! Of course, everyone loves to win a meet and a race, but the real winning comes from when we build a community that works together, loves one another and loves life!
Please help me raise the funds to help continue this amazing summer tradition in Round Rock ! The Dolphins are a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) organization and every penny raised goes to support the kids. The board members and parents donate their time and energy to make meets run smoothly, but we still incur fees to run this program including meet supplies, pool fees, pool equipment, etc. Best of all- additional support will allow us the opportunity to waive fees to swimmers that want to participate but cannot afford the cost. We try to charge as little as possible to be a part of the team, and the more we raise, the more we can reach out and help!!!!!
Your donations are tax deductible, and with a few simple clicks maybe today you could skip the Starbucks coffee or dig through your purse to find that extra couple of bucks you didn't know you had. Think about that feeling you once had as a kid when you accomplished something you thought you couldn't .... THAT is what a donation can provide, and THAT is priceless.
