Urgent Appeal: Help Send a Lifesaving Ambulance to Ukraine from the UK

Please donate towards our target of £10000 to buy and deliver an Ambulance to Ukraine.

Especially during the ongoing conflict, every second counts for those injured and in desperate need of medical care in Ukraine. Hospitals are being targeted, resources stretched thin, and countless lives hang in the balance.

We are Rotary Monmouth our town was hit by flooding from Storm Claudia on the morning of November 15th. Small business, shops and homes were devastated as the River Monnow flowed over the flood defences upstream of the iconic Monmouth Bridge flooding part of the town centre and Overmonnow affecting over 250 homes.

Businesses, community groups and residents who have been affected by the devastating flood have received fantastic support from the community and the local Council but replacing the lost fixtures, fittings and furniture will take money. Insurance will cover some of the losses, but many will be left short.

Rotary Monmouth will work with the Town Council and the community to get help to those who need it to rebuild their lives and livelihood.

Hi everyone, a group of us are Walking the Wye on Sunday 11th May 2025 to raise money for Breast Cancer Research. Hi my name is Tracy and myself and 7 friends from the Abbey vets family in Monmouth,are doing Walk the Wye on Sunday 11th May, to raise much needed funds for the Velindre cancer unit, after we had the devastating news that one of our lovely vets Cate Wood was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Whilst we can’t do much to help Cate with this very personal fight, we can do something positive to show our support.

75% of the money raised will be donated to the Velindre breast cancer research team. The remaining 25% will be used to fund other charitable causes supported by the Rotary Clubs of Monmouth, Chepstow and Ross on Wye.

WALK THE WYE CHALLENGE is a new walking event in the Wye Valley, organised by the Rotary Club of Monmouth.

This more challenging walk event has been developed from the long running series of annual Walk The Wye events, and incorporates the infamous 365 steps and the magnificant Cleddon Falls.

Based at Monmouth Show Ground we will take walkers by FREE bus to the start of their chosen walk at Chepstow or Tintern.

As in previous years, the event will raise funds for the Velindre breast cancer research team.

We are asking each walker to raise a minimum of £25 in sponsorship from friends and colleagues.

You can make a difference by DONATING today to Rotary Monmouth. A group in Monmouth are raising funds to donate a fully equipped ambulance to Ukraine. This will cost approximately £6500 to buy a used ambulance and deliver to Ukraine. A street collection on Saturday 21st february, near the fourth anniversary of the start of the full scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia. Other events will be organised in Monmouth as part of this project.

Ukraine is being targeted daily by drone and missile strikes and humanitarian aid is desperately needed. Rotary Monmouth together with other Rotary Clubs and organisations supports Ukraine, getting aid to where it is needed as quickly as possible.

In the past month alone four 4x4 vehicles, wheelchairs surplus to the needs of Mobility Monmouth , clothing and other items together with Christmas Friendship boxes have been sent to Ukraine from Monmouth with the help of £2700 raised by donations, from the CLub and local supporters.
