RMHCNJ provides a home away from home for families of children undergoing medical care. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.

I have been volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House for more then a year and I need your help in raising money to help the families staying at the house so they don't worry about where they are sleeping, what they are eating  and the little day to day things while their children are getting care at the hospital.    I also really want to beat my sister!!!

Hi, I’m Ava Thomas! I am 10 years-old and I recently won the title of Miss New Jersey Sweetheart for Royal International Miss. I want to use my title to make a difference in my community so I am raising money for the Ronald McDonald House of Central and Northern New Jersey to help families with sick children stay together.  I have never had to stay in the hospital for more than a day and that was just to get an IV. I can't imagine how seriously ill kids my age and younger must feel to be in the hospital for an extended amount of time. I have to think it must make them feel a little better to have their moms and dads and other family members close during such a  difficult time.  That's why after touring the Ronald McDonald house and seeing the friendly atmosphere they offer families in a time of need, I knew this was the perfect way for me to help sick children and their families.

The house I volunteer at in Long Branch, New Jersey is located a block from Monmouth Medical Center. Kids with serious medical conditions come to be treated from all over the world. I saw a push pin map at the Long Branch location that had a pin in each country that a family had traveled from so their child could get the medical help they so desperately need. It has eight themed bedrooms with private baths (the Doctor Seuss room is my favorite); the smallest bedroom can accommodate up to three people and the larger rooms up to five. It also has a full kitchen with two of each appliance, a well-stocked pantry and a food storage area for each family.  

My Ultimate Goal is to raise $10,000!! I plan to use the money I raise to design, decorate, & renovate a themed room at the Ronald McDonald House.  I also plan to reach out to local designers, interior decorators, contractors and furniture stores to ask if they will donate their time and knowledge to help me! And ofcourse my family will be helpimng me as well. Please help me reach my goal if you are able to. No amount is too small!
