Robert Ford Haitian Orphanage
Raymond Ford, my grandpa and biggest role model, travels to Haiti five times a year to volunteer for The Haiti Mission. The Haiti mission is a medical mission trip that opens up a clinic to Haitian citizens. Along with his help as a retired pediatrician at the clinic, he is the co-founder of and runs the Robert Ford Haitian Orpahange & School. He has invested a large portion of his life into giving to those in need. He has developed such a passionate for Haiti and all of the wonderful people there.
Because of COVID-19, he wasn't able to go on the regular April trip with the mission team, nor will he be able to go on the July trip. Unfortunately, although travel may be stopped, the struggle that Haitians are going through is not. The kids of the orphanage still need food, clothing, education, and housing. This situation has left my grandpa in a low place, as I truly believe Haiti is what keeps him going so strong. His 80th birthday is coming up on May 20th and I want to raise money for the orphanage as a gift to him and to help the people of Haiti. My family will be doing a zoom call with him on this day and we would love to tell him some great news to bring his spirits back up. I believe that with him knowing that the orphanage is doing okay, it will do just that. I know times are tough right now for some, but any donation will help make an impact for these children. All projects are created and maintained by the people of that community. Our mission includes providing food, health care and education primarily to the children in that impoverished rural area. We deduct no expenses or American salaries from our donations.

All funds will directly help build this "New Hope Hospital" in an area so it can serve an enormous part of Northern Haiti, called Plaine Du Nord. The health needs are huge. The sick currently undertake a dangerous foot journey to distant hospitals to receive care, if they can even attempt it. As a result, many go untreated and suffer unnecessarily.
