Who We Are
The Comet Research Group (CRG) is a nonprofit team of scientists from over 55 universities across 16 countries. We investigate the impact of comet and asteroid events on Earth’s climate, history, and civilizations.
We’ve uncovered evidence that a massive cosmic event 12,800 years ago triggered global climate collapse, mass extinctions, and nearly erased early human societies.

We're returning to extract 12,800-year-old ice and search for cosmic markers of the impact. This mission has a narrow seasonal window—and the clock is ticking.
Sunken Crater Project (Canada)
A newly discovered offshore crater may be linked to the same event. We’re scanning, coring, and analyzing this site before natural erosion destroys the evidence.
