Lindsey's 30th Fundraiser for Rmfy
Over 30 years ago my dad was a resource officer working with the kids at Marie G. Davis Elementary School in Charlotte, North Carolina. My dad, in true Dave Scheppegrell fashion, saw a need with the kids and figured out how he could help. He started a boy's club with a small group of students, having the goal of helping them do better in school. Connecting with Frank Bragg, the small group at one school soon spread to dozens of schools across CMS. That is how Right Moves for Youth began. In my 30 years, I've watched my dad immerse himself in this program and his community. Lives have been forever changed. Through Right Moves, I've met some incredible people and I've watched some incredible stories unfold. This foundation is special to me and special to my family. I hope you'll help me celebrate my birthday this year with a donation to Right Moves.
More information about Right Moves for Youth, Inc. (Rmfy): Right Moves for Youth’s mission is to provide resources and guidance to help students graduate high school with a plan for their future success. Research shows that when youth are supported, they thrive and become healthy adults who contribute to society. With that said, RMFY is a school-based, youth development and student support program focused on helping teens develop the skills to succeed in school and life. Using a group counseling model, RMFY helps students come to school, do the right things, strengthen social skills, and get ready for college and the workforce. In our program, students grow together and build positive relationships to excel academically, socially and emotionally!
