Charlie's Playground Problem
Our special needs teacher, Charlie, has a problem. His students love playing outside, but they are getting tired of just racing around the track. So Charlie had an idea to start a gofundme page that could help get cooler stuff in his students playground.
Here at the Elizabeth Richardson Center (ERC) we feel lucky to have such a great teacher like Charlie. He is always looking out for the best interest of his students. So it came as no suprise for him to come up with something that could help solve his problem.
We are asking for any type of donation that could be used towards new playground equipment for all of our child development centers. The Elizabeth Richardson Center is a 501c3 non-profit organization that has been helping individuals with special needs since 1963 when Dr. Burnside started a classroom for special needs students because the schools at the time were not trained or prepared to do so. The first teacher to be employed was Elizabeth Richardson. That's how we became known as ERC.
We plan on updating throughout with pictures of how many of Charlie's students this will help. Charlie hopes by the time Fall ends that he will be playing with his students on awesome new stuff. Whatever you can donate big or small, we cannot thank you enough for helping us try to raise awareness for individuals with special needs.
Here at ERC we try our hardest to help our clients live as independently as possible. We have clients from 8 weeks old to over 65 years young. Our services include adult day programs, children services, intermediate care facilities (ICF), community employment, and life skills. We even have Richardson Industries where our clients work for companies such as Wal-Mart and Tyson. You can check it all out at www.ercinc.org.
