Hollie's chopping her locks for Wyatt!
Want to join Hollie in making a difference? She's raising money to benefit Riahs Rainbow, and ANY donation will help make an impact for not just any kid in treatment but it will make a difference for Wyatt Wagner.
The funds raised through this fundraiser will be used to help the Wagner family. Wyatt Wagner was diagnosed with High-Risk B cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on May 14th, 2021. B cell ALL is a form of blood cancer that starts when leukemia cells crowd out normal blood cells in bone marrow. Daycare advised Amy and Casey, Wyatt’s parents, that he was sleeping a lot, not the fun loving, active little boy they were used to seeing. The family brought Wyatt to urgent care thinking it was just a really bad ear infection and came out with cancer. He had seen three different doctors prior to this because he had developed a limp and had a hard time running and walking. The doctors advised that he could be limping for attention. They were also concerned about his excessive bruising and were told that Wyatt is an active boy and that bruising was normal. Wyatt spent six days at Children’s Milwaukee Hospital where he had a port put in, bone marrow biopsy, spinal tap and his first round of chemo. Just recently he had an infection in his small intestine where he had to stay another week in the hospital. He is finally starting to play with toys, smile and laugh. They get lab work done in Neenah so it’s not so far of a drive. They will need to go to Milwaukee once a week for the next 2 months for the next phase of treatment.
Funds raised will help with any travel expenses, like gas cards, restaurants gift certificates and any medical bill not covered by insurance. Also, a special wish gift for Wyatt! A toddler sized garden bed!
Can you believe Hollie is cutting her long locks! Hollie will be donating her long locks to a non profit organization called Children With Hair Loss. A great organization that has provided close to 30 wigs to kids in WI alone! And 608 wigs in 2019.
Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to alot of people.
More information about Riahs Rainbow: The ultimate goal of Riah's Rainbow is to bring smiles to the faces of children who have to endure a day, a week or even months in the hospital. Our mission is to be able to give local hospitals new coloring books, crayons, markers, colored pencils, craft items, etc. to pediatric patients. Each time they visit they will receive a new coloring book & box of crayons to take home with them. We will also offer alternatives such as puzzles, project bags, or paints. Often times, cancer patients are offered "community" craft items. With comprised immune systems, the threat is always there that the child may develop an illness. Riah's Rainbow eliminates that fear for parents.
