For my birthday, I have decided to do a bikeathon among the four boroughs in New York City (sorry Staten Island). My church, Chinese Conservative Baptist Church, has partnered with Rethink Food NYC to provide meals to the local community. As a volunteer, it has been an eye-opening experience to see the impact my church and Rethink has had on local communities. Biking has been a hobby since I learned how to bike when I was fourteen years old. After learning how to drive, I lost contact with this fantastic outdoor activity. Spending time at home during social distancing has reminded me of my love for biking and inspired me to do something good for our community. I want to do a bikeathon to raise money for Rethink Food NYC and help those in the local community. As a gift to myself, but more importantly to those in need, I ask you to participate in my journey to bike the four boroughs on Wednesday, May 13, 2020.

About Rethink Food NYC: Rethink Food NYC Inc is a non-profit organization that utilizes food excess from restaurants, grocery stores, and corporate kitchens to create new and nutritious meals for those in need. Rethink has set up operations for Emergency Food Management and continues to provide meals for those in need during times of crisis. Currently, Rethink is active in New York City and provides meals to those directly impacted by the implications of the virus. They are currently offering financial support, extra food supply, and staffing assistance.
