Playground Project for Farm Worker Children's VPK
An education can make a difference in the lives of many children and for some VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program) is often the first step in their journey of education. In preparation for this school year, there are many finishing touches required for the Norma Godinez Education Center in Dade City, Florida, which will be opening its doors for the first time this year as a VPK for children of farm workers in the Lock Street area of Dade City. My Eagle Scout project is to complete some of the necessary improvements which include painting a masonry wall and fence, in addition to building a sand and water play area which all contribute to giving the students appropriate and dignified conditions where they can learn.

This project will have an immediate impact in helping to end the cycle of poverty through education. My project will enhance the facility and create an environment from which children would not otherwise benefit. The Norma Godinez Education center is a non-profit free VPK for qualified children. While the students' tuition is covered by the State, enhancements like playground, and safety equipment are not.
As apart of my project I am trying to raise the funds required to pay for the costs of materials and supplies such as paint, primer, lumber, and many other materials that could not otherwise be payed for.

My goal is to raise $1500 by Friday September 25th so the project can be completed timely for the students by the beginning of the school year.
It would mean a lot to me personally if you would consider supporting my project today with a donation of any amount and to also share this with your friends and family.
