Restore,Uplift & Hope San Diego

Restore, Uplift, and Hope San Diego (RUHSD) is a nonprofit started to restore hope to the under-served communities of San Diego by uplifting the residents through knowledge and education. We are raising money to support our one of our staple events, the Thanksgiving Turkey Drive

 

The Thanksgiving Dinner Giveaway is a program that was started by the brothers of the Phi Omicron Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.  This program was started to ensure families in need in San Diego County have a meal for Thanksgiving.   We accept requests from families in need throughout the county.  RUHSD has had the opportunity to partner with Phi Omicron annually to support this effort.  Over the last 14 years this event has grown from our first year delivering 5 dinners to last year providing to over 200 families.

 

Over the years we have fed thousands of families for this effort. This year we are aiming to increase those efforts. In this effort we partner with the Christian Life Center of San Diego (CLCSD), Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. - San Diego Alumnae Chapter (SDAC), The Grandparent Connection (GPC) and The Phi Omicron Chapter. an unincorporated entity of The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity located in San Diego, CA.

 

We are looking to support over 350 families this year. ($10,000.00)

 

The proceeds that are provided go 100% into the program providing turkeys and other food items needed for a complete, healthy Thanksgiving meal.

 

Due to the COVID-19 guidelines, this year like last year, will be slightly different. We will be doing more meal drop-offs and the church will be a drive-thru center to decrease the contact with others.
