Rescue Kitties of Hawaii

A good samaritan reached out to us about ten newborn kittens (eyes still closed) that were dumped in a box on Sand Island, a particularly dangerous area due to a prevalent mongoose population. They have clearly been ripped from their mom immediately after she gave birth, and it looks like all of the umbilical cords have been cut off.

We need to raise funds to go directly to these kittens and follow them all the way through foster care until they are adoptable. This would cover medical care, formula and food, and potentially flights to transfer to a partner rescue on the mainland if they do not get adopted here.

Any additional remaining funds will go directly to other rescue cats in need.

Cat’s Legs Shattered After Being Shot And Left For Dead

This is Bobbi. She is very gentle and sweet. One night she went outside and a monster tried to kill her. They shot her and left her for dead in her neighborhood. One of her legs was blown almost completely off. The other was shattered. She managed to drag herself home, crying for help because of the excruciating pain.

Her owner rushed to the emergency vet, but the estimated bill to save her was astronomically high. Bobbi would need emergency hospitalization, a leg amputation, and also surgery to repair the other shattered leg. She purred through the pain as her owner sobbed and cradled her close. They couldn’t afford to save her so they chose to say goodbye. The vet and techs were also crying. It wasn’t fair. Bobbi wanted to live.

The vet was about to euthanize, but saw how much life Bobbi had left in her. She asked the owner to hold off on the euthanasia and immediately contacted Rescue Kitties of Hawaii to see if we could help.

We knew it was going to be a huge financial challenge, but we had to try. We are asking the public for donations to save Bobbi. It is urgent that we raise the funds as quickly as possible because the longer we wait, the higher the risk of massive infection and sepsis setting in.

We know that good prevails over evil. And so we fight.
