The Crisis:

Since April 2023, Sudan has been ravaged by violent conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), displacing over 11.3 million people, including 8.1 million internally displaced persons (IDPs) and 2.9 million refugees. Tragically, half of those displaced are children, facing malnutrition, disease, and extreme danger. Gezira State, once Sudan’s breadbasket, is now among the hardest-hit regions, with over 500,000 people displaced due to escalating violence. Basic services, including food, shelter, and healthcare, have collapsed, leaving communities vulnerable to starvation, disease outbreaks, and further violence.

Recent Attacks on Gazira State:

Between October 20 and 25, RSF forces launched major assaults across eastern Gezira, targeting civilians, committing acts of sexual violence against women and girls, looting markets and homes, and burning farms. Thousands have been forced to flee, seeking refuge from this relentless violence.

The Need:

The people of Gezira State face severe violence, loss of shelter, food and water shortages, and a failing healthcare system. Outbreaks of malaria, dengue, and cholera are spreading rapidly. Your support can provide immediate relief to those in dire need.

Our Goal:

We aim to raise $150,000 to provide essential aid to 300,000 people in Gezira State. Your donation will fund:

Emergency Evacuation and Shelter: Assistance for displaced families to move to safe areas, temporary housing, cash aid, and logistical support.

Healthcare: Essential emergency health services.

Protection & Psychosocial Support: Child protection, GBV prevention, and psychosocial care for traumatized families.

RUSUL has actively supported Gezira State through:

Rufaa Renal Dialysis Unit Expansion: Increasing capacity from one to three shifts, serving 300+ critical patients.

Oxygen Generation Plant: Established during the COVID-19 pandemic to support Rufaa Hospital and surrounding areas.

Food & Medical Supplies: Providing essential resources to IDP health centers in collaboration with Sadagaat USA, RGG and SAMA.

Support for Displaced Families: Offering transportation, resettlement, health insurance, and educational support to 400 families at the Sudanese-Egyptian border.

Conflict Mapping: Creating a real-time map, updated by volunteers, to identify urgent needs in affected areas.
