Support Refugee and Immigrant Services of Emmaus
September 7th, I will be running a half marathon in Sackets Harbor to raise funds for Albany's Refugee and Immigrant Support Services of Emmaus (RISSE). I have been volunteering as an English teacher for RISSE since 2023, working with remarkable people from all over the world who are starting their new lives in the United States.
RISSE provides essential services to immigrants and refugees, from language classes, to visa application and citizenship test support, to basic supplies for children and families. I am very proud to be a part of this organization and excited to support them further in the critical work they do.
I would be honored if you would consider sponsoring my run, with all proceeds going towards RISSE and the families they serve. This will help provide diapers, school supplies, legal assistance, job training, and educational programming to the people settling here in search of peace and prosperity.
