Rescue Food & Feed the Hungry: ReFED COVID-19 Fund
The COVID-19 pandemic has completely disrupted the food supply chain, resulting in a surge of on-farm food loss, food business closures, and a growing number of food insecure individuals. In response to these challenges, we launched The ReFED COVID-19 Food Waste Solutions Fund to quickly deliver vital funding to organizations that can rapidly scale food waste reduction and hunger relief efforts.
100% of the money you donate will go to carefully vetted organizations on the front lines fighting food waste and hunger. ReFED has started to disperse these funds as grants to organizations that will collectively prevent more than 10 million lbs of food from being wasted (the equivalent of 8.3 million meals) in the next 90 days. To date, we have raised nearly $1,000,000, including the funds raised from this GoFundMe campaign.
Even if you are already supporting your local food bank or food pantry, a contribution to The ReFED COVID-19 Food Waste Solutions Fund will expand your impact to include other food rescue and hunger relief organizations that play a critical role in getting food to the people who need it most.
