Please help us build the first inclusive, community-centric nonprofit OBSERVATORY center!
We need $3,800 to hire multiple students and professionals to create renderings of the state-of-the-art observatory, multi-use planetarium, creative classrooms and edible/sustainable landscapes that we've been envisioning for five years!
If 20 people give $190, we will reach our minimum goal!
To show you how serious we are, here is a small portion of our current design, drafted by Alex, the architect we've been working with - owner of Sexsmith Architects. Alex has been meeting weekly with us for months, taking the time to tour other observatories in the state, researching and helping us gain the inspiration and knowledge needed to create this mission-driven facility. You'll soon see the full design but we want to reveal it in color, 3D and on a landscape to really get the vision across. You can help us do that! Learn more about Alex and the other projects he professionally designed here: SexsmithArchitects.com
We have an opportunity to showcase this long-awaited vision to the 250+ attendees at our September 29th inaugural Gala, but we can't do it without your help! The design is ready, the plan is in place, and the artists are on standby... The LAST PIECE IS $$$. Typically, this would cost over $25,000. We're getting stellar professional pro-bono support and can't let opportunity pass! Please help us change Southern Arizona Communities for the better. It all starts with YOU.
What is RFTS?
Our mission is to uniquely improve mental health for children and the community through astronomy, STEAM and engagement opportunities, influencing life paths for many generations.
We use the proven method of stargazing, astrophotography and STEM + Arts = STEAM to uplift people's lives, giving them powerful coping mechanisms to take with them through life. This helps when anxiety is at its worst, motivation is at its lowest and depression is gripping within. Astronomy works! But we need creative, inspiring spaces to run our programs consistently throughout the year.
We've been collaborating with an architect and consultant to create our vision of a Community Observatory, where after school programs spark curiosity, where stargazing and space education launch wonder and awe, and where all youth can feel safe in their own skin and share a sense of belonging.
We are so excited to show everyone what we've built and hope you stand with us. Please give today and 100% will fund this cause!
