Hi everyone! I super excited to be setting up this fundraiser for something I am very passionate about- Re-Member. 
Re-Member is a nonprofit organization that works with the Oglala Lakota Nation on Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Pine Ridge is the poorest county in the United States. 
I have been to Pine Ridge twice, both times with Re-Member to serve the community. I skirted trailers, dug outhouse holes, and delivered bunk beds to children in need. I was planning on going again last summer, but the trip got canceled due to COVID-19. I am hoping to go this summer, but the trip will likely be canceled again. Pine Ridge depends on volunteer efforts exclusively and many Lakota people are being affected by the lack of help. 
In light of this situation, I have set up this fundraiser to get money to people who desperately need it. I will be running a 5k on March 6th at Greenlake in Seattle to spread awareness.

The end of May is the start of my ripe old 26th year!  I was lucky enough at 25 to get a good job and acquire a lot of stuff.  I have a fancy new car, new computer, new clothes and just to make a long story short I really don't need any more stuff.  For my birthday, I would much rather do some more work for the first job I ever truly loved.  With all of that being said, if you had planned on getting me a birthday present, if you would like to support a truly good and efficient non-profit, or if you would like something nice to write off on your taxes next year, please consider donating to Re-Member.

In the past years I have spent some time volunteering with Re-Member, a non-profit organisation on Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, USA.
Many of the native Lakota living there struggle in sub-standard housing and this winter has been significantly colder than normal, leaving many families with little or no heating.
This is a very desperate situation indeed: the temperature has reached -40⁰ and people are burning clothes and shoes to stay warm.
I am raising funds to send to Re-Member for their winter fuel delivery programme; the price of a gallon of fuel is now more than $3 and the minimum for having it delivered to the house is $200.
