Help Keep a Rural Haitian Health Center Open
Help us save the Petite Rivière Health Center, the only clinic open to rural villagers in the Petite Rivière community of Léogâne, Haiti. Founded and constructed by a close team of Americans and Haitians in the wake of the devastating earthquake in 2010, the Petite Rivière Health Center offers a wide range of healthcare services to children and families. Our staff treats malnourishment among children in the community, provides dental care, and dispenses medications.
After the earthquake, opening the small health center in Petite Rivière was deemed to be a “miracle” by the villagers. They now have access to basic health care by a dedicated group of health care providers and have access to medications to treat their illnesses without worrying about their ability to pay.
We currently do not have enough funds to keep the clinic open for the rest of the year, and ask for any donation—big or small—to help us stay open. Our clinic is operated by two full-time nurses, a dentist, and an incredible team of support and administrative staff who live nearby. Due to the recent political unrest in Haiti, members of our community are less able to travel for healthcare needs. Our clinic is in a moment of crisis and needs your help.
Your donation will go exclusively to paying our staff, buying essential medications and supplies, and ensuring that families never have to pay a cent for care. In our almost fifteen years of providing healthcare to people in Léogâne, we have never had to ask patients to pay for services. But now, with our funds running low, we are being forced to ask for a small fee of about 25 cents per visit. With your donation, we can return to providing absolutely free healthcare, including medications and labs, to every person who seeks our help.
Our clinic requires approximately $3,000 per month to operate fully without lowering staff salaries or requiring patient fees. Currently, we only have enough funds to stay open until August of 2024. Please consider donating to allow our community members continued healthcare access and our amazing staff to keep their jobs during this incredibly difficult time in Haiti.

To help us provide continuous care and stay open for the indefinite future, we are in need of monthly donors. Big or small, monthly gifts help our clinic staff and patients not have to worry about whether we will have enough funds each month to keep our doors open.
