Lighting Up Youth Soccer on the Shore
A Bright Future for Our Athletes: Help Us Finish the Job!
We are so close to bringing light to our soccer fields at Randy Custis Memorial Park! Thanks to the incredible support of Northampton County, The Tourism Board, The Eastern Shore Community Foundation, Exmore Rotary Club, Atlantic Bank and the US Soccer Foundation via Musco Lighting, we have raised a significant portion of the capital needed to install lighting for the new home field of the Eastern Shore Community College men's and women's soccer teams.
We are only 15% away from our goal! We have worked hard since last Fall to raise $160k of the $190k needed. This is why we come to you, the community. This project isn't just about lights; it's about illuminating a path for our youth, strengthening our community, and creating a brighter future for all.
This new field and lighting will benefit more than 550 local soccer enthusiasts, from our youngest recreational players to our travel teams and, now, our college athletes. With lights, our young players will be able to practice past daylight savings, extend their season, and gain a competitive edge against teams in other counties. For the Eastern Shore Community College teams, lights will enable them to practice in the evenings after class and work—a critical need for student-athletes. Most importantly, it will show our youth that there is a direct line from our local fields to the opportunity to play at the collegiate level and advance their education.
Season after season, dedicated coaches and parents have used car headlights and generators to light the fields, determined to give our kids a chance to play. Now, we have the opportunity to make this a reality for everyone.
MISSION: LIGHT THE FIELDS BY NOVEMBER 2ND! We have the momentum, the plan, and the foundation. We just need your help to close the final funding gap! Our goal is to light the fields by 11/2/2025 - Daylight Savings Fall Back! Our construction crew is ready to go and can still make our deadline.
