Instead of wedding gifts, we hope you will consider donating to our fundraiser for Rainbow Railroad, an organization that helps LGBTQI+ people facing persecution around the world find refuge in safer countries.

While we are incredibly lucky to get married with the love and support of those around us, we also cannot forget that anti-LGBTQI+ hate is on the rise all over the world. Your donations will help people who are trying to escape from state-sanctioned violence, discrimination, or loss of freedom. Rainbow Railroad responds to thousands of urgent requests for help each year, and they provide emergency travel, safe shelter, crisis response, and resettlement pathways for LGBTQI+ individuals with nowhere else to turn.

In eight countries same sex intimacy is punishable by death. The global refugee crisis is exasperating the plight of LGBTQI people worldwide. Rainbow Railroad exists to provide a solution to this problem, to provide solutions for individuals facing imminent danger and to get them to safety.

To support this, last year at disguise we ran a competition to design a Pride t-shirt logo. We now have this fab logo printed on our very own Pride t-shirts! Raising Funds to assist LGBTQIA humans to safety

Rainbow Railroad believes that governments around the globe should enact and enforce laws and policies that protect LGBTQI individuals and enable them to live in freedom and safety in their own country. However, until that day arrives, our organization is focused on providing solutions for LGBTQI people who need immediate assistance because they are facing a serious threat to their lives and safety.

What they do

Rainbow Railroad verifies each case, learn about the circumstances of the individual facing persecution and determine how we can help.

They determine effective routes to safety, and connect with local contacts who can provide pre-travel and logistical support.

They provide travel to their destination country and immediate, bridging post-travel support on arrival.

It costs approximately $10,000 to help an LGBTQI person find safety. Let's shoot to assist at 1 human to safety and continue to raise funds from there to assist as many community members as we can.
