Help foster dog with leg surgery
Gazelle was rescued by one of our foster moms in 2017, running down the road dragging a chain.
Our foster mom took her in and got her to a vet where it was determined she was starved and being brought up in a bad environment - as a bait dog. Gazelle has had several visits with dog trainers, who all said the same thing, Gazelle will only trust one person, the one who "saved" her from the road.
Gazelle's fear reactions make her unadoptable, so she is a lifelong PAWS foster.
Gazelle was recently running in the fenced yard when she started to limp. A vet visit determined it to be a torn CCL (like the human ACL). This is not something that will ever heal on its own - it will develop scar tissue and only worsen, so surgery is the only option.
So far the foster mom has gone to their vet, who did an exam and x-rays, then referred Gazelle to the orthopedic specialist who confirmed.
Total spent so far is 298.58, even with our rescue discounts.
Surgery like this is expensive, even though AMC in Palm Bay has generously trimmed 20% for our rescue from the 4K estimate. Luckily AMC had an opening and Gazelle will have her surgery Wednesday, July 16.
Every dollar helps! Thank you, and please share!
