Professor Aaron Thomas | Photographer | Documentarian | Educator | Veteran Advocate

I am a master photographer, documentarian, and visual communications professor dedicated to capturing the human condition through the lens of truth and transformation. As a Navy veteran and mental health advocate, I use my craft to support disabled veterans, first responders, and those battling PTSD, offering healing through photography and storytelling. With over 30 years of entrepreneurial experience in IT and media production, I blend art, education, and mentorship to empower others. My nonprofit, Photographically Touching Souls Deeply, is a testament to my mission: using photography as a tool for resilience, purpose, and grace. My primary mission is to help disabled veterans cope with symptoms of PTSD.

I am a US Navy Veteran diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. I am the founder and president of Photographically Touching Souls Deeply, PTSD, a 501c3 nonprofit to help veterans who live with this diagnosis improve their quality of life for themselves and their families through therapeutic photography and art therapy. It helped me recover, and I am dedicated to giving back to first responders and veterans.

I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photography and a Master of Fine Arts in documentary production, and I am a Texas state-certified mental health peer specialist.
