Providence House

Want to join SEI NYC in making a difference? In celebration of Women's History Month, we're raising money to benefit Providence House, Inc., a Brooklyn-based non-profit founded in 1979 by four nuns from St. Jospeh's parish.

 

About Providence House

Providence House serves and advocates for women and families at risk of harm, who have histories of homelessness or justice-involvement, and provides a community where their dignity is recognized, strengths are enhanced and a transition to stability is achieved. Whether it’s a family escaping domestic violence, a woman who’s addiction issues led to incarceration, or an individual who needs extra help to maintain their independence, each are welcomed into one of the ten residences that make up the Providence House community, and promised a safe, supportive environment.

How will your donation be used?

The move from Providence House's facilities and into apartments of their own can be both an exciting and stressful experience for these women and their families. In order to ease some of the financial burden of the move on their already tight budgets, Providence House provides each family with a ‘Move-Out Kit’ which contains essential household items like bedding, cookware, and storage items. Proceeds from the SEI auction will help to purchase items for the Move-Out kits and support these families as they start this new chapter of their lives.
