Project Sweet Peas

Hi! My name is Maya Matar and I am currently a fourth year nursing student that holds a deep passion for optimizing NICU stays. Throughout my clinical experience, I’ve had the privilege of seeing firsthand how incredibly vulnerable and overwhelming a NICU stay can be for families — and how much of a difference it makes when they’re supported not just medically, but emotionally.

While doctors and nurses work tirelessly to care for fragile newborns, it’s often the small gestures of comfort and compassion that help carry parents through those long, uncertain days. That’s why I’m raising funds to support Project Sweet Peas, an incredible nonprofit dedicated to providing care packages, memory boxes, and emotional support to NICU families and to those grieving the unimaginable loss of a baby.

The difference that is made in a parents spirit when they feel seen, supported, and not alone is truly powerful. Project Sweet Peas helps create that kind of impact every single day.
