John Alex Memorial Fund
Many know Alex John as the guide and voice for Kilimanjaro. If you’ve had the incredible opportunity to spend time with him on the mountain, you will know how much he adores and loves his wife. Despite the treacherous treks up and down Killi, Alex has made it his life mission to build a dream home for his wife, Sarah John. He accomplished it!
Unfortunately, Sarah died unexpectedly on July 27, 2020.
Sarah leaves behind three beautiful children and her soul mate, Alex.
Due to COVID-19 shutdowns, Alex has been unable to work as a guide. This fundraising effort is raise money to assist with the memorial and funeral service, and assist Alex and his family during this financial predicament. For a man that has done and continues to do so much for humanity, this time more than ever, he will need all of us to usher him up this mountain of grief. Join us in this moment.
Alex Bio: Alex is a mountain and safari guide in East Africa, and also Vice Chairman of the Kilimanjaro Guides Association. Alex fights for the rights and human treatment of mountain guides and porters. Alex also volunteers his time, spending it with orphans, helping them with the little things they need, and sharing his food with street children of Arusha and Moshi, the town he spent so much time in. Alex is the African Ambassador for Project Change, helping spread the plight of women and children living in extreme poverty.
