I dread the inevitable day when I'll need to teach my child how to respond during an active shooter situation.

Two beautiful lives were lost in Minneapolis as the new school year began.

Research from the Violence Project reveals an important truth: A mass shooting begins long before the actual event, often with the shooter's traumatic childhood.

This is why I'm using my upcoming half marathon at the Bear Chase Race to raise funds for Prevent Child Abuse America . Childhood trauma directly contributes to the development of individuals who later commit these horrific crimes. By addressing trauma early, we can prevent future tragedies. This month, Sigma Delta Tau Alpha Xi chapter is hosting our first SDTea Party, raising money for Prevent Child Abuse America. Inspired by vintage tea parties, SDTea Party will treat guests to an all-you-can-eat buffet, selection of teas, crafts, games, and so much more!

If you cannot join us in person on March 30th, we invite you to support our fundraising efforts through this GoFundMe campaign! Any amount helps and means a great deal to us and the impact we can make on the world. Funds will be transferred directly by GoFundMe to PCAA.

Sigma Delta Tau supports three primary philanthropies: Prevent Child Abuse America, Jewish Women International, and the SDT Foundation. We hold 6-10 events each semester for our three partners.
