Amica Marathon in Honor of Al Yancius
In honor of my Dad's life, I will be running the Newport Amica (Half) Marathon Sunday 10/13 alongside my longtime best friend Sarafina Milgrom, running her first ever (Full) Marathon!
It’s nearly 1 year since we lost my Dad to cancer and in dealing with this unfathomable loss—running has proved a productive & surprisingly emotional outlet.
Prevent Cancer is my charity of choice because I’m inspired by their mission to improve awareness, access, early detection, and lifestyle choices—in hopes that these avenues can at the least, lessen the impact, and at the most, lower the risks entirely of this insidious disease.
My Dad spent nearly 30 years teaching me how to be resilient, and as we all have choices in life, I choose to continue to live the way he would’ve wanted me to. I’ll forever be proud to be his daughter, and I take the most comfort knowing that he can live on through me.
Any amount you might consider to donate is so appreciated in honor of my Dad (Big Al) who was a fighter, and a trooper, until the very end.
