Founded during a time when the conventional pathways to healthcare education and experience were suddenly blocked, PHS innovated a new path forward. This student-run, fully remote nonprofit organization quickly became a pivotal platform, offering virtual shadowing opportunities that have since impacted the lives of nearly 60,000 students worldwide. Through its rapid growth and adaptability, PHS has not only bridged gaps in healthcare education during a critical period but has also evolved into a vital resource for future healthcare professionals. Remarkably, we have awarded over 160,000 certificates to students, validating their commitment and the hours they have dedicated to advancing their healthcare education through our platform.

Behind the scenes of PHS is a vibrant leadership team of high school, undergraduate, graduate students, and professionals. Despite the impressive scale of our operations, it's important to acknowledge that due to our current funding model, everyone from the board members to our volunteers remains unpaid. This extraordinary group of individuals manages not just their academic responsibilities, research projects, extracurricular activities, and part-time jobs but also dedicates up to 50 hours per week to ensure PHS operates seamlessly. Their commitment is fueled by passion and the desire to make a significant difference in the lives of others, utilizing every resource available to keep our platform running efficiently and effectively.

PHS's impact is vast and deeply felt. Not only have we hosted engaging virtual shadowing sessions with professionals across various healthcare fields, but we've also offered students the chance to earn certificates, verifying their hours of dedicated learning. These certificates have opened doors for our students, many of whom have successfully entered medical, nursing, and PA programs, turning their dreams into reality.

We've had the honor of attending esteemed events with the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) and receiving acknowledgments from medical schools, solidifying our role in shaping the future of healthcare education.
