Potowmack Read-a-Thon
"Today a reader, tomorrow a LEADER."
OUR GOAL is to raise $15,000 and to have fun! The Read-A-Thon is a fun, eduactional way for students to use their love of reading to raise money for our school. Donations will be used to purchase clasrrom resources (iPads, laminator, and poster maker) and to support teacher's professional development.
Please make sure to include the student(s) name in the comment section when making your donation. Every donation helps! With more than 600 students, if every student contributes, we will be able to make a huge differance in our school!
PARTICIPATION Please join us in making the Read-A-Thon a successful, fun and community-spirited event! This is Potowmack Elementary PTA's (Virgiana Congress of Parent and Teachers) primary fundraiser of the year. We invite all family members and friends to come out and read with us on October 13th!
Help spread the word! Please forward this to family and friends who may be willing to donate. Students can request donations for a specfic dollar amount or per minute read. Reading logs will be used to track the minutes students read.
Along with collecting donations, students can participate in daily spirit acitivites during the Read-A-thon, complete the Reading Challenge Card, and log minutes read on either the Reading Log or at Biblonasium.com. These will all be sent home along with additional information with students on October 13th.
Students can also earn AWESOME prizes! Prizes include: Chances to throw a pie at a teacher, Rebounderz passes, lunch with a teacher, smoothies, gift cards to the Scholastic book fair, Reston Skatequest passes, themed gift baskets, and more! Winners will be announced November 1, 2017.
