Posh Pets Rescue

Hi. I’m Lydia. I’m 12. I love animals because they are great friends. They also help you learn about life. I am adopted. When I was 6 years old, my parents decided to adopt a dog. We picked a 6 year old “puppy mill mamma” from Posh Pets Rescue. Well, I thought we picked her, but she picked us. When we went to the shelter, we were in a room with a bunch of dogs, and she came over and put her paws on my knee and looked up at me. I thought she was telling me to take her home. So I did. The picture up above is from the year I got Venus.

When we got her home, she was confused, withdrawn, awkward, and had strange habits. She was very skinny and only had four teeth. All of this was from being treated badly at the puppy mill. Her mental and health problems never went away. We tried really hard to make her feel happy and comfortable. She would wake up in the middle of the night from nightmares because she never forgot the past. But I think she trusted us and loved us as much as we loved her because sometimes she would dance, play, roll over for pets and just be really cute.

She taught me to be patient, kind, loving, and to accept people and animals with their issues. She also taught me that even if you are adopted, you are family no different than a biological family. Venus was my family until she died. I will always remember our special relationship. We were even in the newspaper together. I will always love her and miss her.

Animals are special so I am raising funds for Posh Pets because they are really good at saving animals from bad places and giving them good homes like mine. Every animal deserves love and protection. Posh Pets is the best place to help animals. They have been helping animals for a long time. My mom helped me start this GoFundMe page.

Since Venus died, we have adopted 4 more fur babies from Posh Pets (2 cats and 2 dogs). I wish I could save them all. The least I could do is raise money for Posh Pets so they can continue to do great work. I hope you will help me help the animals by pledging whatever you can.
