Support Plowshare Fair Trade & Education for Peace
The first brick and mortar Fair Trade store in Wisconsin, and the only remaining one in Southeastern Wisconsin, needs your support to survive missed revenue opportunities during the COVID-19 crisis.
About Plowshare Fair Trade Marketplace and Education for Peace
Plowshare's Mission is to "Make Peace Relevant" through:
☮ Educational programs, documentary viewings, book studies, and forums, often free to the public, about social justice and both inner and interpersonal peace
☮ Our Fair Trade store, selling products made by artists who earn living wages, work under safe conditions, and use sustainable techniques and materials, promoting global economic justice and environmental health

Plowshare has recently celebrated 31 years in downtown Waukesha. At the same time, our work has national and global reach. At Farmers Markets and gift fairs, our Fair Trade goods are sold to out-of-state visitors who haven't seen similar crafts and products in their home states. Plowshare has invited speakers from Washington, DC as well as Cuba and Mexico. Products in our shop are sourced from 70+ countries, including the US.
Plowshare Needs Your Help
As a small non-profit, Plowshare relies on three sources of revenue to operate: sales from our shop and offsite sales, proceeds from our two annual fundraising events, and donations from our generous supporters.

This year, COVID-19-related health concerns have required us to shutter our shop and cancel our offsites for at least a month, if not longer. In addition, the postponement (to September 26) of our 31st Anniversary Celebration and Peacebuilder Award Dinner means a revenue gap this spring of $10,000. While this health crisis continues, we intend to pay our bills and fulfill our financial obligations to our loyal and hardworking staff.

Because of all this, we are asking for your help. As the first brick and mortar Fair Trade store in Wisconsin, and the only remaining one in Southeastern Wisconsin, our continued existence will depend on the support you can provide.
This secure GoFundMe page has been established to help us weather this unprecedented but temporary situation through #SmallBusinessRelief.

Our mission to create a more just, sustainable, and peaceful world through socially responsible shopping and transformative educational experiences is more important than ever!
Thank you for your support at this difficult time, and our best wishes for your health, well-being, and peace.
