About Pioneer Library System Foundation
Established in 2010, the Pioneer Library System Foundation is the philanthropic partner of the Pioneer Library System (PLS). Our mission is to support literacy and a love of learning throughout PLS communities. Since its founding in 1958, PLS has grown to serve more than 400,000 people across Cleveland, McClain, and Pottawatomie counties. The system includes full-access libraries in 10 communities, additional access locations in smaller communities, and outreach services including Business Services and the PLS Mobile Maker Lab. With generous donor support, the Foundation helps fund programs and community education initiatives that extend the library’s impact beyond what public funding makes possible.
