Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS)

Since I can't take them all in under my roof, I'm hoping that fundraising for this great charity will go someway to giving these poor pets a home. I'm staggering, stumbling and probably limping by the end over these 26 miles for the furry friends of Philly. Would love you to help me out with a dollar/ pound or two.

Xavier "X" Hernandez touched so many lives. He was a loving son, big brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. X never hesitated to help any one in need, especially animals. He didn't shy away from taking in a pup in need, no matter how skinny, scared or scarred they were. In his honor, as we approach his 55nd birthday, we were hoping to raise $550 in his name to benefit the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS). But we blew past that goal and decided to go for 2 x 550 ($1,100) and then we blew past that goal! AMAZING! The new goal is $2,100 based on his life-long admiration of Roberto Clemente (#21). Any donation will help make an impact for animals in need, and to keep X's legacy of helping others alive. All donations will go directly to PAWS which is the city's largest rescue partner and dedicated to saving Philadelphia's homeless, abandoned, and unwanted animals. PAWS is working to make Philadelphia a no-kill city where every healthy and treatable pet is guaranteed a home.
